AdvancedMD Re-Launches Website and Features New Electronic Medical Records Product

Draper, UT (PRWEB) May 11, 2006

AdvancedMD Software, a leading provider of medical billing software on the web, announces the re-launch of AdvancedMD.com. The re-engineered website features updated product and usage details, an easier to navigate design and new electronic medical records software , AdvancedEMR.

“The new website allows our clients to keep up-to-date with our products and services,” said Lane Peterson, Vice President of Marketing at AdvancedMD Software, “It also provides a valuable avenue to show-off the benefits and advantages of our new EMR solution.”

AdvancedEMR, an electronic medical record management system, seamlessly integrates with the AdvancedMD practice management solution. AdvancedEMR is designed to simplify the cumbersome workflow of office processes, increase productivity and minimize the challenges that can come with EMR implementation. Only 10% to 15% of physicians currently utilize electronic medical records.

According to an American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) survey of “What Physicians Want for EMRs,” respondents ranked remote chart access at home, the hospital and their office as number one. AdvancedEMR addresses this need directly by allowing doctor’s offices to use this charting software the same ways they always have. AdvancedEMR also provides support for portable devices like PDAs and tablet PCs so charting can be performed during the patient visit.

“AdvancedEMR simply makes life easier for the doctors,” said Peterson, “Doctors that normally avoid EMR systems will consider this one and they’ll love the results.”

Attend billing & collections seminars & get more insight on record retention rules

Attend billing & collections seminars & get more insight on record retention rules

What do you do if your practice is running out of space for storing your paper records? How do you keep them?

It’s important to stock up billing and medical records – both paper and electronic – for two primary reasons. Previous records ensure your practice has all necessary information in the event of a lawsuit or payer issue and also provide historical information to help with current patient care.

As a rule, you need to keep stock of all medical and billing records for about seven years because that’s how long the audit process can be in some instances. Experts are of the opinion that you should mirror your record retention policy with whatever the stature of the limitations is for suing on a contract is in your state.

A note of caution: Although you’ll have easy electronic access to the electronic records, you’ll do well to keep a copy of all paper records for the required amount of time as noted in your state’s statutes. So if you are running out on space in your facility, you can keep the copies in a separate storage facility. There are many record-storage facilities which will make microfiche copies of your records and store them elsewhere to see to it that you have copies in two separate places in case disaster strikes.

Tip: How long you need to keep a minor’s records varies from state to state. You may have to keep a minor patient’s records until he attains the legal age.

For more of such billing and collections updates and tips, go for billing and collections seminars and conferences. In fact, there’s a billing and collections conference coming up in Orlando, FL in December where you can head to and make the most of.

Gain knowledge about billing and collections conferences by attending proper billing and collections seminars along with premier coding experts, CDs, tapes and transcripts of coding training information by specialty.

After a complete review of the facts and circumstances surrounding the allegations, he is of the opinion that no violations of KOMA occurred at the February meeting and that the board fully complied with the Kansas Open Meetings Act and with its own board policies related to conducting an executive session. Google Tech Talk March 22, 2010 ABSTRACT Presented by Kevin Biglan, MD, MPH and Ray Dorsey, MD, MBA, University of Rochester. The cost of clinical trials is rising, recruiting participants is increasingly difficulty, and monitoring safety is increasingly important. Home and patient appropriate technologies like the Marvell Plug computer and Google products can help address all of these issues. We will discuss our efforts to monitor blood pressure remotely using these technologies in a Michael J. Fox funded Parkinson disease clinical trial. Telemedicine using simple web-based video conferencing using, for example, the Marvell Plug computer and Google’s services can also address large unmet needs in clinical care. Chronic conditions account for 75% of health care expenditures and affect over 140 million Americans. However, many have limited access to physicians, especially specialists, who can improve their care. We will present results of a pilot, randomized controlled trial of increasing specialty access using telemedicine to individuals with Parkinson disease residing in a remote nursing home and remote communities. We discuss future directions, including providing care directly into people’s homes (‘virtual house calls’), and ways that Google’s services can provide additional value. A new variation of the Marvell Plug computer in planned as an interactive television server for the virtual house calls in a upcoming study.
