Stages of an SSI Claim — Hearing Before a Judge

If you’ve received a notice for a hearing before an administrative law judge, that means you’ve been turned down by Social Security and you’ve asked for a day in court. It means it is time to get an attorney if you don’t already have one. The administrative law judge hearing is critical – this is your only opportunity to have a face to face meeting with the person who is making a decision about your disability. These hearings can be very detailed — including many questions and witnesses such as physicians and medical or vocational experts. You need an attorney who knows the law, your case, and your medical records inside and out. The record that is made that day is ultimately what will determine whether you win your case. You need an attorney who knows what he or she is doing, and at Leventhal Sutton & Gornstein that is what we do everyday. Contact Leventhal Sutton & Gornstein at (215) 357-3300 or (800) 889-6101, or online at www.lsg-disabilitylaw.com.

Before you pay your medical bills – Look for Over Billng and Double Billing

In this video I share from a personal experience the importance of knowing the terms of my medical coverage so that if or when medical bills arrive in the mail – I know whether I need to pay them or not. I share how my Part D Prescription Drug provider made a mistake in sending me a coupon book to pay them for the premiums, when because of my income on disability, the state pays the premium for me. Had I not caught the company’s error and reported it I might have paid for the coverage and they would have been paid twice, or then if I did not pay the premium I would have lost my coverage which I need.
